Months ago I took these photos while Stefan was on leave visiting his wife Erika.

She came up with the idea for balloons and her vintage camera to personalize her

photoshoot even more. We shot on location down at the Kelso Train Station and

walked around the block to find different backgrounds. They were a fun couple

to photograph and I am glad I had been given the chance.

Soon after the shoot he got deployed to Afganistan but with technology these

days they don’t have to go long between talking to eachother.

Gotta love the internet.

so we did her portrait session right at sunset to get the best

natural light as possible. It was beautiful! She rocked it of

coarse.

the first to offer herself as a test subject so I took her

up on it. We shot these right behind my favorite Starbucks.

lol. I even found a $5 bill on the ground to get a drink.

This new lens is called a Lensbaby and is a product of Portland, OR.

I like it…it adds a little something to make portraits stand out.

It will be used by request.

lighting techniques I learned.

She was perfect!

We got lots of great shots that day.

Cadence just turned one and her mom who is another photographer

brought her into my studio for a cake smash session.

I was there and figured I should get some pics too.

Her mom Brenda of Woodland told me it was a ok to use these

for my portfolio. Yay. Thanks girl.

These are my sweet, funny, caring and always make me a proud mommy kids.

I try to not overdo the staged photos with them…I try to capture who they are

everyday around the house. The goofy things they do make me smile.

I have been taking a lot of photos with my ipod 4th gen…and love it.

It makes it all so simple. Carefree. Capturing the moment with that thing is great.

Sure the quality lacks a bunch but it is light weight and very portable. The

videos are also a plus. No editing just shoot and go. Love it!

Anyways back to my darlings.

Kiana is just now 8 years old. She is an excellent artist and loves i-Carly and

Wizards of Waverly Place. Oh I do love Netflix.

Kai turned 5 in January. He loves Trains and most cartoons. Barney is a fave.

He is even reading now…can sit and read us kids books…even new ones.

Zeke turned 4 and has started saying many more words this past month.

Night night, bear, please, bite, more, I love you. I see you. Kai, Kiki, Dada and Mama.

Those are the main ones. We are so proud of the little guy.

He is still an avid climber and got a second degree burn on his lower right leg last week.

It seems to be healing nicely. He didn’t climb for 2 days…but has since returned to

his jungle roots.

I love them all.

Each is different.

Unique.

MINE.

Pajama portraits are a super fun way to get your kiddo/s

to relax, have fun and get some real smiles from them.

I tell the kids to jump on the bed and they just love it.

They can roam around the studio space and be free.

Unlike any other studio in Longview…they can be a kid.

Alexa loved the freedom she had during her photoshoot.

Lots of smiles and giggles…who doesn’t love wearing their pjs anyways!

They wanted to come check out the new space and trade headshots so we met up.

Krista is from Kelso and she wanted some shots with her camera to show her love of photography off.

She took some photos of me first and then I took some of her in my white room that I am in love with!

The natural light I get in there is beautiful to say the least.

Then Brenda who is from Woodland showed up with her adorable daughter but Krista had to leave for

a photo session of her own and didn’t have the pleasure of shooting Brenda. That sounds funny! lol

Yes Thatcher is back and he was ready for action. I took his family photos last February

over in and near Clatskanie along the river and at the High School.

I was so glad to see him again…isn’t he so cute rockin his lil’ green glasses!

Loved the shark hat and mittens I should buy some.

Thanks to his Mom for bringing him back in. He had fun and so did I.

Welcome to 2011 Everybody.

Big things have been happening around here for me lately.

I now have my own Portrait Studio located in

Historic Downtown Longview,WA in the Henry Building

at 1407 Commerce Suite #106. Yes, I am totally excited about it all and

my hubby and I have been painting like crazy people.

So Newborns, Babies, Boudoir and Rainy Day sessions now

have the perfect place to go. Yay!

The Studio is by appointment only since I have young ones at home still.

Onto my first Family Session in the new Studio Space.

The “M” Family was the quickest and easiest session I think I have ever had.

They knew exactly what they wanted when they came in and were gone

after about 30 mins. They were a fun group and had me laughing till the end.

They don’t often have a chance to get ALL of the family together so they took full

advantage this time and asked me to photograph the whole family unit as one.

I was happy to be asked and hope they Love the portraits! Enjoy.

p.s. Not sure why the first photo is so low quality…the rest look perfect.

I usually get previews posted to Facebook before the blog.

We drove to Kalama, WA where my Mom lives and trick or treated around her neighborhood just like the past at least 7 years gone by. The thing that was different about this year was the weather. It was not freezing and it did not rain. There were no more than 3 sprinkles that hit my face the entire time. It was wonderful and quite enjoyable for all of us. No one complained of being wet, tired or cold…which was so nice.

After we counted our loot with each child getting around 80 treats each we ate some good food my Mom had prepared and watched movies. Rocky Horror Picture Show was near finished by the time we had sat down which didn’t hurt our feelings none since it is a very strange musical. We watched the original Night of the Living Dead which was filmed back in 1968 and was very fitting for Halloween night.

It was a fun evening with just us and the grand-folks and I hope it is this good next year too.

We met through church where he was the youth pastor/worship leader.

Over the years our friendship has only gotten better and stronger.

Ava was such a lil girl when we first met and look at her now!

She has such a great personality already watch out world!

We wanted to get the beautiful trees that are down at the Japanese Gardens

so we started out there. We ended the night over at Willow Grove for some more

relaxed and candid photographs. The weather was just beautiful that day

and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Meet Dave and Stephanie folks. Stephanie was actually reffered to me through a mutual  friend she works with who was actually getting married the same day. We met up at Starbucks in the early spring and she knew then that I was just the photographer for the job.

Dave and Stephanie chose to have the ceremony at the First Christian Church over on Kessler by the lake. What a beautiful church it was and it was my first time being there too so I was pleasantly surprised. The bride was beautiful and I had never seen a dress quite like hers before and I adored it. I don’t know who the florist was but man the flowers were stunning! The ceremony went along beautifully and without a hitch and afterwards we got some goregous photographs of the two together by the lake.

They rode to the reception that was being held over at the Ballroom in the Historic Monticello Hotel in her uncles vintage Lincoln continental. It was a thing of beauty for sure. I had the pleasure of getting to work with my older brother at the reception since he is a professional DJ and owner of A Perfect Party. The dancing, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss were all fun but the most touching moment was when the bride had a song dedicated to her parents. The got on the dancefloor and when they music started the mother of the bride was overfilled with tears of joy. A big group hug shortly followed and the overwhelming emotion was felt by the crowd. It was so sweet and I loved being there to see and capture it for them.

Congratulations again Dave and Stephanie on your beautiful and very memorable wedding day! Thanks for trusting me to photograph it for you. Best wishes in your many happy years of marriage!

They had just gotten married and were leaving in one week to move to Kansas.

We decided to go for a more soft country feel for the photos so they chose to meet out

at Willow Grove. It was such a beautiful day we were so blessed with the warm sunshine.
