Alex loves Videography and Music. He dabbles in song writing and plays the guitar.

He is a fun, goofy and the life of the party type of guy.

We met in downtown Longview to start off his senior portrait session in style.

After spending an hour there we headed out to Willow Grove for some fun beach shots as the sun was setting.

Once done shooting on the beach we hurried to a grassy location to get out the guitar to finish the night.

We chose to do her senior portrait shoot down in Castle Rock,WA since there is a lot of variety there.

We started downtown and just walked around shooting here and there and getting to know eachother.

Then we went down to the Cowlitz river banks and had some more fun. She even braved the cold water.

Our last stop was a beautiful open field by the 4 Corners store. We had a little scare as an unleashed dog

started barking at us but we just walked far away from it quickly and it left us alone. Whew!

Who knew that the payphone would need to be tapped in little ol’ Castle Rock?

Let me tell you guys…this Kelso girl knows how to have fun! She was up for anything I suggested for her senior photos and is quite the jumper! Amber loves her pet horse Rio. Rio is I think she said 9 years old and she was a bit camera shy outside but once we put her back in her stall she was a happy camper. As you can tell Amber is a country girl all the way…from the horse she rides to the Ford F150 she drives! My kinda girl. We started her senior session at the stables she keeps Rio at so we could get some great shots of the two of them together. Rio was funny thinking she was hungry eating all of the green grass even though she had just eaten not an hour before. lol. We then went down to Longview’s Willow Grove for some beach shots and boy was it windy! Amber was a trooper though and we had a good time and we were just thankful it never rained. We ended our time together with some shots of her and her pretty truck and then an awesome self portrait of the two of us since it’s my new tradition.

I personally didn’t get senior photos because I dropped out of highschool in 11th grade and went to Tongue Point Job Corps and graduated with a degree in Data Entry and Dental Assisting. Needless to say neither of those were fun enough to keep my interest.What’s your story?

So here we are at week 10 already. I am loving finding photos to fit the weekly theme over at the  I heart Faces blog. Sometimes I re-edit the challege photo and sometimes I leave it how it is in my archives. This one I left alone and didn’t do any changes to it. This is one of my Senior girls from last year. We did her senior portrait session in Downtown Longview,WA and on the outskirts at Willow Grove. We had a bunch of fun and I was proud to show her and her mom her awesome photos afterwards.

So I was dropping my soon to be seven year old off at school today in Castle Rock, WA and decided to take a quick peak at the little shops in their downtown area. I always want to drive slow past them but someone always comes out of nowhere and is behind me….well today the same thing happened again and I decided to pull over to look. I stopped in front of an empty space but right next to it I saw this little cafe. On the sidewalk sign I saw the words Potato soup and I knew I had to go and check it out. . So I walked into Lacey Rha’s Cafe at 32 Cowlitz St. W. Castle Rock. Right away I notcied the sign that said there was Free Wi-Fi available to their valued customers and I had wished I had my laptop with me. I walked to the counter and ordered a bowl of potato soup and while waiting I looked at all of the great photos on the wall from the Castle Rock area back in the early 1900’s. It’s so neat to see how things were back then…I just wish more people had smiles for the camera. lol. Well I enjoyed my soup and it was gone before I knew it…I ordered a Strawberry Kiwi Italian Cream Soda and was on my way. I did pick up a takeout menu and everything looks so delicious. I will surely be making my way back down there soon! *Note to self bring laptop.

I could imagine this would be a great place to hang out with friends and to get away for a bit. With the free wi-fi you can have lunch and do some work or some play.

Kiarra is planning on going to college locally at LCC for two years and I am betting her mom is glad she will be close. We walked around downtown for her portrait session and then we went down to the banks of the river and the old Kelso Waterstation to get some more great photographs. I really enjoyed my time and hope Kiarra and her mom did too.
