J + M = Engaged – Longview Wa Photographer

Today…well now yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Jake and Marissa’s engagement pictures in Longview,WA. You might remember Marissa since I just did a session for her and her siblings that they gave to their parents as a surprise for Christmas. I heard there were some watery eyes when those heartfelt gifts were opened.  On my way I stopped at Starbucks for my usual Shaken Iced Green Tea with light ice and no water. I know better but I drove off without tasting it first. Again they forgot to put the classic sweetener in it and it was not very good. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours till I could go back and have them fix it but when they did I surely gulped that puppy down.

We met up at Bobs (sporting goods store) at 2pm and walked around downtown for about an hour.We headed out even though it was sprinkling and gray out. Luckily Marissa brought an umbrella so she could stay dry and not ruin her hairdo. We all know water and hair don’t mix well right. lol.  When I was done with the downtown scene we headed to Lake Sacajawea in the middle of Longview for some different shots. They were such great sports they even sat on a wet bench without flinching. There was talk about Jake pushing Marissa into the lake but lucky for her he doesn’t like to get in the water much.

Jake is a quiet guy and apparently he doesn’t like to smile on cue but at the end I caught him grinning so that was great. (See the last photo) He enjoys hanging out at the river to fish. Marissa said he tries to fish but she jumps in to swim and scares all the lil’ fishies away. What a team!

Marissa on the other hand seems to love to smile. She is outgoing and sweet and I had no problem getting wonderful pictures of her. Can you believe her perfect skin I am so jealous.Then her green eyes are just awesome, makes me wish I could trade in my brown eyes for a new color. I am sure I could with contacts but what fun is that? When I think of contacts I start thinking of visine commercials with the guy speaking slowly about dry and irritated eyes. lol. Anyways.

Back to the Engaged couple…They already have their wedding date planned for the middle of April and hired me as their wedding photographer months and months ago. Thanks guys. So I am so looking forward to shooting them again in the spring. We will hope for little to none of the usual April showers on the big day. Too bad I am not a destination photographer because they are going to Disneyland for their honeymoon. That is going to be a blast so make sure to take some pictures guys for us all to see!
